A Message From Your Saturn Retailer. Dear Customer: As you likely heard, it was announced on Friday, June 5, that GM has sold the Saturn brand to Roger Penske and his Penske Automotive Group. We at Saturn of El Paso & Saturn of Las Cruces believe the sale of the brand to Roger Penske is great news for our customers, our employees and the future of the dealerships and the Saturn brand. Roger Penske is a true “car guy.” A former racecar champion, Roger has since become America’s most successful car dealer with 310 dealerships and franchises worldwide and strategic alliances to provide vehicles to groups such as General Electric. He is a known leader in “green” car technologies as well, something he will likely further champion with Saturn. Beyond his experience in the automotive industry, Penske is a smart businessman and a great leader. He led the efforts to bring Super Bowl XL to Detroit a few years ago and has been vital in helping to rebuild Detroit’s downtown area. He is known, worldwide, for his innovative, smart, hands-on and no-nonsense business style. His overall combined experience makes Roger Penske the man with the right relationships, talent, vision and dedication to help truly move the revival of the Saturn brand ahead. Finally, a car guy owns a car company! It has been a long road since GM first announced its intentions to divest the Saturn brand three months ago. Many of you were not sure where we were headed. Today’s announcement is the first real indication of the future of Saturn. We have a leader. We have our direction. We are off to the races. I trust today will be the first real step toward clarifying the direction, shape and spirit the Saturn brand and Saturn culture will take moving forward. As always, Saturn of El Paso/Saturn of Las Cruces are and will stay at the lead of the Saturn Revival. We will continue to offer our customers great vehicles and great service.
